This is a sample/preproduction guitar. ESP makes the samples to test out various colors, finishes and to show to dealers prior to the actual model being built. They take them to shows like NAMM and start taking preorders for the new years model. Some Samples are never make it into production models.
It shows a bit of fine scratches in the clear coat on the back. It looks like scratches but I was able to wipe most of it off with some guitar cleaner. I think what ever is left will come off with more wipes or it may need to be quickly buffed out. The pictures do not show all of it as they only appear in certain light with the angles. They are not deep at all and I would probably just rock the guitar as is. There is a small bugger at the very top of the head stock on the back side.
